I have now been a client of Spencer Kirkham for two and a half years. Although I am now well past the age where one could consider me young, I can honestly say that working with him has yielded tremendous results. I feel that I am now in the best shape of my life. I initially approached Spencer with a desire to increase my strength and muscle mass. Spencer’s approach is somewhat non-traditional; it focuses on the individual’s entire body. Almost all of the drills are designed to benefit muscles throughout the body. I found that after a year I had made significant progress toward my fitness and strength goals. I have already gone up one shirt size.
Spencer is respectful of my limitations, but he also understands the human body, and therefore pushes me towards feats of strength and endurance of which I did not think I was capable. The success that accompanies these exercises has given me much more confidence as I continue to work with him on increasing my strength.
Spencer occasionally incorporates yoga movements into the training sessions, which has been beneficial. He is also skilled at body work, and during many sessions has been able to provide me with relief from tight muscles so that I can perform the drills.
As a trainer, he is friendly, warm, and caring, and pays close attention to my form during exercises. These are qualities which create a very good rapport during our sessions. I would recommend him as a trainer to anyone without hesitation.
